Insurance Eligibility Specialist Job – Acton, MA

Under the general supervision of the Revenue Cycle Manager the Insurance Eligibility Specialist will be responsible for the referral and eligibility process for upcoming patient appointments.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review all provider schedules 1 day in advance for valid referral.  If there is no referral then obtain one from PCP
  • Review all provider schedules 1 day in advance to verify that insurance is eligible, if not or if patient has no insurance call patient to obtain correct information
  • Edit any patient address differences between the insurance/Athena
  • If no referral is obtained by the 1 day before appointment then add a note to the appointment stating referral waiver is needed
  • Enter in referrals sent to the Business office through fax and courier bags
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Fluency in English (Written and Spoken)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field
